On Sunday, Aug. 16th, we will be celebrating Holy Communion as we remember the spiritual revival (Moravian Pentecost) of August 13, 1727. Sealed, self-contained communion pods are available with a wafer and grape juice. Please call the office if you are interested – they will be available at our outside service.
To Celebrate this event, we will be holding two special events that day:
- Food Drive for Allentown Ecumenical Food Bank (this food bank serves our neighbors in downtown Allentown – N. 6th St.). We’ll have plastic tubs outside that morning by the church sign from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. to collect canned and non-perishable goods.
- Book Sharing for Children of all Ages: We’ll be putting out lots of books from our Reading Room, cleaned and spread out on tables for free pick-up. Please encourage anyone with kids to stop by and pick up some free books from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Welcome and Announcements.

Prayer Reflection/Confession “Where are you wrestling/What are you wrestling today?”
Liturgy for “Mercy and Truth” adapted from Singing from the Heart hymnal with the permission of the Interprovincial Board of Communication, Moravian Church in North America.
Come, let us walk in the light of the Lord.
In him is the fountain of life, and in his light we see light.
Enter into his gates with Thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise; be thankful unto him and bless his name.
For the Lord is good. His mercy is everlasting, and his truth endures to all generations.

The sacrifice which God desires is a humble spirit; O God, you will not reject a humble and repentant heart.
If we confess our sins, you are just and will keep your promise: you will forgive our sins and purify us from all wrongdoing.
Silent Confession
Hear what the Lord says: I am the God who forgives your sins, and I do this because of who I am. I will not hold your sins against you. Go, and sin no more.
Glory be to the Creator, the Christ and the Holy Spirit, world with out end, Amen.
