O come, O come, Emmanuel–
God with us.
Come into our brokenness;
Come into our joy.
Come into our captivity;
Come into our freedom.
Come into our fear;
Come into our compassion.
Where is our Hope to be found?
We have hope because God is with us; in our past, our present and our future. O come, O come, Emmanuel.
As we wait, may we hear the voice of God.
In our homes, at our work, even while waiting in line—may we see the face of Christ.
Now is the moment, let us prepare our hearts.
In our words, in our hearts, in all we say and do—
O Come, Emmanuel, God with us. Amen.
Liturgy for Advent pg. 49. (For pg 51, the congregation will sing both the choir and congregation).
(For the singing of “Hosanna”, the women will sing the first part, the men the second. As we repeat the song, the women will continue to sing the first part, and the men the second.)
