Call to Worship:
Immortal, Invisible God, you are beyond words and explanations.
Yet you come to us in moments of light and peace, spirit and presence.
Searching and sometimes struggling, our life is a journey toward you, O Lord.
May we pause in thanksgiving of your journey toward us, and in all the ways, big and small, that you reveal yourself.
Forgive us, God, when we linger too long by the waters, and on the mountain tops, enthralled with the glory that flows from you.
When we fail to listen to your voice, leading and guiding us, shake us from our contentment and send us forward endowed with your power.
Silent Prayer
Lord Jesus, on mountaintops and valley floors, you reveal to us the light of your love. Our hearts desire is to bask in the amazing glory of the divine presence. With each encounter we are changed and transformed. Draw us nearer that we might receive a double portion of your Holy Spirit. Help us, O Holy One, to live our lives as a reflection of divine glory. May we walk among our brothers and sister as a blessing, bearing light into dark places, hope to displace despair, and love that casts out hate. Amen.

Prayers of the People
Reflections on Psalm 121
I lift up my eyes to the hills – from where will my help come?
My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
Silent reflection: How ready and willing am I to rely on the Lord’s help?
Where, in my life, might I rely more on God?
He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber.
He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
Silent reflection: How have I experienced God’s attentiveness in my life?
The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade at your right hand.
The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon my night.
Silent reflection: In what way am I feeling the heat of daily living?
What do I need to say to God about this?
The Lord will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life.
The Lord will keep your going out and you’re coming in from this time on and forevermore.
Silent reflection: What tempts me to live in ways that are not consistent with God?
What do I have to say to God about this? How does God respond?
